A bold new chapter is taking shape at one of the South Island’s most iconic motorsport venues.
For more than six decades, Ruapuna Raceway – also known as Euromarque Motorsport Park – has been at the heart of South Island motorsport.
Generations of drivers have raced here; teams have competed; businesses have entertained clients; families have spent weekends; and lifelong connections with motorsport have been made.
Now, Canterbury Car Club is preparing to take Ruapuna into its next era.
At an exclusive evening in October, the Club unveiled its plans and first visual renders of an exciting new pit garage development, giving guests a first look at a project set to play an important role in the venue’s future.
For General Manager Mark Wederell, seeing the project come to life is a significant milestone.
“There has been a lot of work happening behind the scenes, so being able to finally show people what we are planning is incredibly exciting.
“We are extremely proud of Ruapuna and what it has meant to the South Island motorsport community. This project is about ensuring we have a facility people can be proud of for generations to come.”
The event also introduced an opportunity for businesses to become directly involved through garage signage sponsorship, creating a highly visible association with one of the region’s most recognisable motorsport venues.
“We wanted to create an opportunity where businesses could genuinely feel part of the next chapter of Ruapuna,” says Mark.
The evening also showcased the 100mph Club, Canterbury Car Club’s premium membership tier launched earlier this year.
Designed for members and businesses wanting to experience Ruapuna at another level, the 100mph Club offers premium track experiences, opportunities to entertain clients and guests, and connections with fellow motorsport enthusiasts.
“It’s not just about motorsport,” says Mark. “It’s about creating experiences, bringing people together, and giving members an opportunity to enjoy Ruapuna in a completely different way.”
Together, the pit garage development and 100mph Club represent Canterbury Car Club’s vision for Ruapuna – building on its proud history while investing in its future. For sponsorship and membership enquiries, email lydia@canterburycarclub.co.nz.
