A landmark in the making
Christchurch’s next defining address is taking shape on the edge of Hagley Park.
Overlooking one of the Garden City’s most enviable views, The Park is set to redefine luxury living in Christchurch.
There are few addresses in Christchurch quite like Park Terrace. With Hagley Park on its doorstep and the central city moments away, it has long been a desirable place to call home. Here, the seasons play out on a grand scale, from spring blossom to autumn gold, framed by the city’s established trees.
Now, this prestigious stretch of the city is set to welcome something entirely new, offering a rare chance to secure a sanctuary on one of its most celebrated streets.
The Park is a collection of exceptional residences, bringing together considered architecture, sophisticated interiors, and an extraordinary connection to the landscape beyond its doors.
Designed by MAP Architects, The Park will comprise two luxury residential towers rising to ten levels, alongside a collection of terraced residences looking out over Hagley Park.
“The Park aims to occupy the space between city and landscape,” says Kerry Mason, Director of MAP Architects. “At ground level, the terrace apartments and podium are embedded in the landscape through planting, gardens, local stone, and a strong relationship with Hagley Park.”
“Above, the towers rise as contemporary markers on Christchurch’s skyline, their slender, offset forms creating a distinctive silhouette while maximising light and outlook.”
Developed by Wolfbrook Residential, The Park builds on the company’s growing portfolio of high-end homes, with recent projects at some of Christchurch’s most prestigious addresses, including Rossall Street, Aikmans Road, and an upcoming project on Fendalton Road.
For Wolfbrook Strategic Development Lead Simon Denny, space was key.
“We wanted the development to breathe. The landscaped gardens create natural breaks between the buildings, so there’s a real sense of space.”
Inside, Modi Design interiors take their cue from the park’s natural textures and tones, with a choice of light and dark schemes. The result is a calm, understated backdrop that lets the view take centre stage.
“Wherever possible, the kitchens, living and dining spaces face the park, so the views become part of everyday life,” Simon says.
Crowning the collection are two substantial penthouses with multiple living spaces, expansive outdoor entertaining areas, and garaging for six luxury vehicles. Below, expansive three- and four-bedroom residences will offer a new standard of apartment living, particularly for those looking to downsize without compromising on space or quality.
Residents will also enjoy concierge service and a private wellness centre, a retreat to unwind and restore without leaving home.
“We expect to receive interest from across the country and even further afield, from returning New Zealanders seeking amenity that compares with global capitals,” says Wolfbrook CEO Guy Randall.
“Some of these residences are on the scale of Christchurch’s larger homes.”
Early interest has been strong. “There’s nothing like it in Christchurch, and I don’t think anything has been attempted here with this level of ambition.”
For those who call The Park home, it offers something rarer than luxury: a permanent front-row seat to one of the country’s great parks.
“Quite simply, this location can never be repeated.”
